Lamb Throwdown 2012!
On Saturday, August 25 the outdoor grills get fired up for a Mini-jam Lamb Throwdown between chef Jason Stoneburner of Bastille, chef Branden Karow of Staple & Fancy, and butcher Russell Flint of Rain Shadow Meats. This friendly chef competition sponsored by the American Lamb Board in partnership with Bastille Café & Bar, takes place in the grassy park area across the street from Bastille.
Reed Anderson of Anderson Ranch will be at the event and also provide cuts of American Lamb leg and shoulder for the competition. The competitors will have grills going and set out to smoke the competition with their immense lamb creativity. The goal is to ‘wow” the attendees and judge panel to win Best Leg , Best Shoulder , People’s Choice, and most importantly, bragging rights! Guests will take part by tasting through all six dishes and voting for People’s Choice, while imbibing on select beers and wines.
The event is from 1pm – 4pm and space is limited to 100 guests. Tickets are $25/person and include lamb tasting, one drink ticket, and a goody bag. Additional beer and wine will be available for purchase. A portion of the net proceeds will benefit Community for Youth.
