September Charity Cookoff is Fried Chicken!
The next Ethan Stowell cook-off is just around the corner, and this time the Fried Chicken Crown is up for grabs. A handful of Seattle’s best chefs and home cooks will duke it out at Tavolàta on Sunday, September 22.
The competitors include, on the chef side of things: Josh Henderson from the Huxley Wallace Collective; Hudson Slater, chef at Maxwell’s in Tacoma; Ryan Donaldson, chef at The Stone House in Redmond; Tricia Marino from Stoneburner; Tobie Robinson from Parsnips Catering; Dan Braun from Oliver's Twist, Paul Rosquita from Taste at SAM, and Ethan Stowell. And representing the home cooks: Joe Jeannot of the Jopra Show; Rocky Yeh, a happening man-about-town; Luuvu Hoang, and Cameo McRoberts.
Guests will be given a scorecard to taste and rate all the different fried chicken as the evening goes along, and the winner will receive a $200 gift card to Ethan Stowell Restaurants. The cook-off begins at 6pm and cost is $50/person. The cost includes a near-ungodly amount of fried chicken, cole slaw, potato salad, mac and cheese, and draft beer. Smack talk is most definitely encouraged. Reservations are highly recommended, as previous cook-offs have consistently sold out. For reservations, please call Tavolàta at 206.838.8008.
