Join Us at The Wallingford Farmers Market
We will be joining the Wallingford Farmers Market every Wednesday through the end of September. Last week Mkt. chef Joe Ritchie was out in Meridian Park selling smoked roast beef sandwiches with pickled vegetables and house made Yukon Gold potato chips, getting to know the market community.
Every Wednesday afternoon one of the Ethan Stowell Restaurants chefs will be at our booth, selling a unique seasonal item such as zucchini fritters with herb pesto, Olsen Farms pastrami sandwiches, fresh burrata with heirloom tomatoes, salads, fresh pastas, and other items that make use of the local produce, proteins, and cheeses on offer at the market.
The market is at Meridian Park (4649 Sunnyside Ave N) from 3:30pm to 7pm every Wednesday through the end of September. The picnic areas and space to spread out means that families and locals can drop by after work and put together a little meal to enjoy on the grass—the chefs are all looking forward to meeting folks and chatting about food and cooking. The booth will give busy families an opportunity to have some great food in a relaxed atmosphere.
The Ethan Stowell Restaurants’ Facebook and Twitter feed will announce each week’s chef and what they plan on bringing to the market—expect to see a lot of Joe Ritchie of very nearby Mkt., who’s spearheading the project. All of the restaurants will be participating—Tavolàta, How to Cook a Wolf, Anchovies & Olives, Staple & Fancy, Rione XIII, Bar Cotto, Mkt., Red Cow, Chippy’s, and Ballard Pizza Company—and all the chefs looking forward to introducing their food and farm fresh produce to more people outside the restaurants and their usual neighborhoods.
