Ethan Stowell at the All-Star Softball Classic at Safeco Field

On Saturday, June 15, Ethan Stowell will be joining dozens of other local and national celebrities at Safeco Field for the All-Star Softball Classic for Homeless Youth, a fundraiser for the United Way of King County. Ethan will be playing on Mariner Hall of Famer Dan Wilson’s team, against a crew lead by Jay Buhner, another member of the Hall of Fame. The game raises money and awareness for United Way’s mission of solving some of the community’s toughest issues, namely hunger and homelessness.

Ethan will be playing alongside Jeff Ament, Pearl Jam’s bassist, as well as Seattle SuperSonics player Gary Payton, and Seahawk wide receiver Golden Tate. They’re up against a team coached by Edgar Martinez and stocked with the likes of award-winning author Sherman Alexie and NBA all-star Detlef Schrempf. Donations can be made online at the United Way website in either team’s name, and the team with the highest donation total earns an extra out! Vote team Dan! Donate (and get more info) on the United Way website.

The game promises to make for a fun Seattle afternoon, and also supports a great cause. After the game, local band The Young Evils will be playing and all the onlookers are encouraged to stick around and join in the game day festivities. Gates open at 1:30pm and the game starts at 3pm. General admission tickets are $10 and available online or at Safeco on game day.
